Sunday we went whale watching in San Diego. We took a boat for a 3 hour tour....no, the boat wasn't the Minnow, but it might as well have been, cause we had pretty rough seas the whole trip. We went with another couple, friends of mine who live in Sd, the lucky dogs. The wife had bought the whale watching tour for her husband's birthday, even though he always gets seasick (it was his idea to be sure...). The seas were so rough almost the whole boat got sick, with the exception of my husband, who apparently has a stomach of steel. I got sick too and puked out the peanut butter cup and nuts I had eaten right before takeoff. To add insult to injury, we didn't see any whales, but we did see lots of dolphins, including Spritzer dolphins, which are not too common. On the way back, there were plenty of common dolphins playing in the boat's waves and with a few sea lions in their midst, that was fun to see. All in all a pretty good day, except for all the puking going on on the stern and the bow. We got home in the afternoon, and I was so freaking dead tired, I took a nap, even if I still had a mountain of clothes to iron before tomorrow (I still do), another mountain of clothes to put away and other selected chores around the house. Needless to say, tomorrow's lesson is going to be very relaxed.....
that's us pre- puking....
So glad you decided not to include any post-puking pics!!
ReplyDeleteDolphins are nice to see. I have never seen them in real life. Unless you count Sea World.
ReplyDeleteI love the water, but we don't have much of that in Colorado. Or whales. Or dolphins. The closest I've come to a dolphin is the tuna sandwich I ate yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of whale watching, but have suspected there would be motion sickness to go with, so I don't think I'll be doing that unless you can see them from shore : )
