MEA CULPA MEA CULPA

I've been absent for so long here, I don't even know where I left off. Lots of things have happened and the time has flown by. Thankfully, I'm on Spring break this week, so I should have some time to catch up. At least, I've been reading your blogs, so I don't feel totally out of the loop. Did you know there's a new pope? See what I mean? I've been so busy that it seems like it's been 600 years since the last pope retired and I wrote on my blog.....Well, the wait if finally over, 'Habemus papa' and 'habebus new post'...

Let's see, a few things have changed and boy am I happy. I've moved schools, and part of town. I've moved from the East side to the West side, a sort of "George Jefferson's I'm moving on up...", but the other way. After all, here on the west coast the beach is to the west, so it would make no sense to move to the east side, which is the poor, ugly, nobodywantstoworkthere part of town usually. I've also switched subjects, nowI have to teach American History since I have a credential in that too (yes, I'm a genius, didn't you know that...). Hopefully, I will be able to go back to science next year. History is fine and all of that, but my heart and my brain are in science, so here's to hoping at least one science teacher moves, retires, wins the lottery or whatever, so I can go back to my first love.

On the home front, we're seriously thinking about getting a lil' friend for Monica, since the boy chis are two total bores and never play with her. If we do though, I'm buying a stroller or some kind of a pet trailer, there's no way I'm walking four little dogs with their leashes always getting entangled....grrr.
I'm going home in July for a couple of weeks, so I'm looking for a ticket that won't cost me the house. Somebody said to fly to England first and then catch a connecting cheapo flight from there. Prices in Europe are less now, given the crisis and the fact that all the Eurozone is going mad. I tried to convince my sister to go for a car ride and come to pick me up in London, but somehow she doesn't think that would be a great idea....for her. Oh well, I can always swim across the channel....

Hubby and I are so looking forward to getting our taxes done this week.....NOT. I dread it even though we do everything online, but I definitely do not want to piss off uncle Sam, cause you know he's gonna come knocking real soon if you do that...

Well, I think that's it for news. Today I went to the Italian consulate to get my passport renewed,  but obviously now they no longer renew passports, so I had to get a new one, so they could charge me the full fee......God love 'em! Good thing I already had my ex-convict photos done.....

  1. I love (not!) the Italian consulate! Around 1970, my daughter was going to Europe to work. The Italian consulate wanted her original graduation certificate from UCLA. We had had it Permaplaqued (sp?)--not acceptable or removable. What a hassle!!

    1. Italians are known for their incredibly annoying and time consuming bureaucracy. They just do it to drive the people mad, since they don't have much else to do....:)

  2. Glad some things have been looking up. :o) Hope you're able to find a ticket that won't put you in the poor house.

  3. The only thing about those cheap European flights is that they charge you for every little thing...including check in luggage. You still could probably find a decent European flight that is cheaper though. I could even do some checking on my side for you :)
